Gold Coast Airport is 22 km from Surfers Paradise

Transfers are available with the Gold Coast Shuttle which meets all flights. Bookings are not necessary - just purchase a ticket at the airport on arrival. Price at publishing is $18 per person one way.

Transfer by taxi is about $50.

Transfers from Brisbane Airport

Brisbane Airport is 90 km from Surfers Paradise

Transfers are available via train or bus. The train is available between the hours of 6am and 8pm – please visit www.airtrain.com.au. The train station to transfer to is Nerang where a Surfside bus number 745 will meet the train and transfer you to Surfers Paradise opposite the hotel. The price for the 745 bus from Nerang station is not included in the Airtrain ticket, however the AirtrainConnect fare is all inclusive of train and chauffeured transfer at very affordable rates. $42 at time of publishing. Children travel free.

Room Facilities

All rooms have bathrooms - the standard hotel room bathroom has a shower only and the apartment has a bath and shower over the bath.

The apartment has a kitchen with a stove, fridge, microwave and all utensils, crockery, saucepans and electric frypan.

Standard hotel rooms do not have a kitchen, however they have a small bar fridge, kettle and facilities for tea and coffee.

We do not have any 2 bedroom apartments – only standard hotel rooms and one bedroom apartments.

Our rooms do not interconnect due to the hotel layout; there is a hotel room and apartment side by side.

All rooms come with TVs

Hotel rooms and apartments have air-conditioning, backpacker rooms have fans only.

The maximum number of people permitted to stay is as quoted (no exceptions).

Requests such as high floor, pool views, and a room close to friends will be noted on bookings but unfortunately cannot be guaranteed. The reception staff will always do their best to accommodate your needs if possible.

Hotel Facilities & Details

Reception desk is open 24hrs for check in/out and general enquires. Check-in is from 1pm however there is a luggage room for hotel guests and lockers for backpackers who arrive early or wish to store luggage on departure.

Tours, car rental, theme park tickets, buses and cruises can all be booked through the reception desk.

Laundries are coin operated with washing machine and dryers and two are available for use, open between 7am and 10pm

Pool, spa, sauna, tennis, squash are all open 7am-10pm. Bookings are required for tennis and squash courts and a $20 refundable deposit is taken for use of racquets and balls.

The pool is not heated. Pool size is 14.5m x 10.5m and the depth is 1.3m to 1.9m.

The Islander Resort Hotel is 11 stories high - no rooms have ocean views. Rooms only have pool views and face towards Cavill Ave, or hinterland views.

2 internet cafes are available onsite – one in the hotel (24 hrs) and the other in our games room. Tickets start from $2.50 for 30 mins; printing and fax service are also available.

We do not offer wireless internet from the rooms. Wireless internet is available at Zaraffas Coffee which is a 2 minute walk.

Backpacker lockers in rooms are 600mm deep x 630mm wide x 630 high - these are lockable with your own padlock

Bookings

Bookings can be made 3 ways: on our web site, by email or by phone. All reservations require a credit card number and expiry date to secure the booking, or a cheque/money order can be sent.

The website www.islander.com.au belongs to the hotel and the rates advertised are the current rates for the hotel. All room types listed on the website are the only room types we have.

The hotel does not close - we are always open. 24 hours each day, everyday.
