How can I make a booking?

  • Bookings can be made 3 ways: on our web site, by email or by phone

Do I need my credit card details to secure a booking?

All reservations require a credit card number and expiry date to secure the booking, or a cheque/money order can be sent

Are the rates listed on the website current?

  • The website www.islander.com.au belongs to the hotel and the rates advertised are the current rates for the hotel

Are there any other room types?

  • All room types listed on the website are the only room types we have

What are the opening hours for the hotel?

  • The hotel does not close - we are always open 24 hours each day, everyday

How are the 2 bedroom apartments configured?

  • Our 2 bedroom apartments consist of one standard hotel room and a one bedroom apartment positioned side by side

What are the opening hours for your reception desk?

  • The reception desk is open 24hrs for check in/out and general enquires

How many laundries are there and when are they open?

  • There are 2 laundries available between 7am and 10pm, which are equiped with both washing machines and dryers that can be operated by coin

What are the opening hours for your pool, spa, sauna, tennis and squash facilities?

  • Pool, spa, sauna, tennis and squash facilities are all open from 7am-10pm

How many Internet Cafes do you have and where are they located?

  • 2 internet cafes are available onsite – one in the hotel (24 hrs) and the other in our games room

How much does it cost to use the Internet?

  • Tickets start from $2.50 for 30 mins

Do you have printing and fax facilities?

  • Printing and fax services are also available

Do your rooms have wireless Internet?

  • We do not offer wireless internet from the rooms

Where is the closest available wireless Internet?

  • Wireless Internet is available at Zaraffas Coffee, which is a 2 minute walk

Do I need to book the tennis and squash courts?

  • Bookings are required for tennis and squash courts and a $20 refundable deposit is taken for use of racquets and balls

Is your pool heated?

  • The pool is not heated

How big is your pool?

  • Pool size is 14.5m x 10.5m and the depth is 1.3m to 1.9m

Do any of your rooms interconnect?

  • Our rooms do not interconnect due to the hotel layout; there is a hotel room and apartment side by side

Do all hotel rooms have TV's?

  • All rooms come with TVs

Do you take booking requests?

  • Requests such as high floor, pool views, and a room close to friends will be noted on bookings but unfortunately cannot be guaranteed. The reception staff will always do their best to accommodate your needs if possible.

Do all your rooms include a shower and a bath?

  • All rooms have bathrooms - the standard hotel room bathroom has a shower only and the apartment has a bathtub with a shower over the bath

What is the kitchen equipped with in the one bedroom apartment?

  • The apartment has a kitchen with a stove, fridge, microwave, all utensils, crockery, saucepans and an electric frypan

Do the standard hotel rooms have a full kitchen?

  • Standard hotel rooms do not have a kitchen, however they have a small bar fridge, kettle, cups and saucers, tea, coffee and sugar sachets

Are all your rooms air conditioned?

  • Hotel rooms are air conditioned and apartments have air-conditioning in the bedroom

Do you make exceptions on the maximum number of guests per room?

  • The maximum number of people permitted to stay is as quoted (no exceptions)

How many stories is there and do they have ocean views?

  • The Islander Resort Hotel is 11 stories high - no rooms have ocean views

What views are available from your rooms?

  • All rooms either have pool views, hinterland views or face towards Cavill Avenue

What time can I check in?

  • Check-in is from 1pm, however there is a luggage room for hotel guests and lockers for backpackers who arrive early or wish to store luggage on departure

How big are your backpacker lockers?

  • Backpacker lockers in rooms are 600mm deep x 630mm wide x 630 high - these are lockable with your own padlock

Can reception help me book holiday activities and tours?

  • Tours, car rental, theme park tickets, buses and cruises can all be booked through the reception desk

  • Cairns is 1000 km

How close is Islander to Cavill Avenue?

  • Cavill Avenue is one block away and takes 3 minutes to walk

How close is Islander to the beach?

  • The beach is one block or a 3 minute walk away

How close is Islander to Pacific Fair?

  • Pacific Fair Shopping Centre - 10 minute bus ride (5 minutes by car)

How close is Islander to Harbour Town and how can I get there?

  • Harbour Town outlet shopping centre - 35 minute bus ride (15 minutes by car)

How long would it take me to get to Australia Fair from Islander?

  • Australia Fair Shopping Centre - 10 minute bus ride (5 minutes by car)

Where are the closest movie cinemas?

  • Movie Cinemas are located at Australia Fair and Pacific Fair

How close is Islander to Jupiters Casino?

  • Jupiters Casino is at Broadbeach - 10 minute bus ride

Are there tranfers to and from Gold Coast Airport?

  • Transfers are available to and from the Gold Coast Airport with the Gold Coast Shuttle, which meets all flights. 
  • Airport transfers are available through Surfside Buslines Route 702 departing every half hour which picks passengers up from Ferny Ave and drops off at the Gold Coast Airport Terminal.  Approx. cost is $5 one way.

Do I need to book my transfer from Gold Coast Airport to Surfers Paradise in advance?

  • Bookings are not necessary - just purchase a ticket at the airport on arrival

How much would a transfer from Gold Coast Airport to Islander cost?

  • Price at publishing is $18 per person one way

How much would a taxi cost from Gold Coast Airport to Islander?

  • Transfer by taxi is about $50

Can I catch a train from Brisbane Airport to Surfers Paradise?

  • The train is available between the hours of 6am and 8pm – please visit www.airtrain.com.au. The train station to transfer to is Nerang where a Surfside bus number 745 will meet the train and transfer you to Surfers Paradise opposite Islander Hotel.

Do I need to pay for the connecting bus from nerang to Surfers Paradise?

  • The price for the 745 bus from Nerang station is not included in the Airtrain ticket, however the Airtrain Connect fare is all inclusive of train and chauffeured transfer at very affordable rates. It cost $42 at time of publishing and children travel free.

Are there any other transfer options from Brisbane Airport?

  • Transfers from Brisbane can also be made by bus with Con-x-ion Coaches - please visit www.con-x-ion.com
